Sending get well soon flowers to a Sydney hospital

Most get well flowers go to a hospital, and a few quick checks save a lot of disappointment.

Check the ward accepts flowers. Not all do. Intensive care and some specialist wards restrict fresh flowers (and sometimes plants) for infection control. A call to the ward, or a quick message to family, is worth it.

Get the details right. We need the patient's full name, the hospital name and address, the ward, and the bed or room number if you know it. Without a ward, flowers can end up waiting at reception.

Check they'll still be there. If they're likely to go home tomorrow, send the flowers home instead.

Think about space. Bedside tables are small and vases are scarce on wards. A compact bouquet with a Bouquet Vase Add-On means nobody has to hunt for a jug.

We deliver to public and private hospitals across Sydney. Include the patient's full name, ward and bed number if you have them, and check the ward accepts flowers first: some intensive care and high-dependency units don't.

Recovery at home

Recovery at home can stretch on, and the messages tend to drop away after the first few days. That's often when flowers mean the most.

For someone resting up, a potted orchid plant is a good fit. It arrives in its pot and needs very little care, with no vase water to change. Our White Potted Orchid Plant starts from $77.

If they're not moving easily, add a delivery note so the driver knows to knock and wait, or leave them with a neighbour.

Choosing colours for someone who's unwell

Soft and calm, or bright and cheerful? It depends on the person, and how they're feeling.

For a shared hospital room, ask for something lightly scented in the order notes and we'll design with that in mind.

Sending from a team or workplace

Sending on behalf of the office? One shared bouquet is easier on the patient than five separate deliveries, and there's more room for it on a bedside table.

Nominate one person to organise it, collect names for the card, and consider sending it home once they're discharged, when they'll have more space and energy to enjoy it.

Keep the card about them, not the work they've left behind. "The office is too quiet without you" goes down far better than a deadline reminder.

Yes, we deliver to hospitals across Sydney. Include the patient's full name, the hospital, the ward and the bed or room number if you know it. Please check first that the ward accepts flowers, as some wards don't.
What if the hospital doesn't allow flowers?

Send them home instead, timed for when they're discharged, or choose a gift from the collection that isn't fresh flowers. A card with a note saying flowers are waiting at home is a nice touch too.
What should I write on a get well soon card?

Keep it light and warm. "Thinking of you, rest up" or "Can't wait to see you back on your feet" works well. Avoid asking lots of questions about their health. Add your message at checkout.

Where do you deliver flowers to?

We offer same day delivery for many Sydney suburbs from Monday to Saturday, for orders placed by 12.30pm AEST. We are closed on public holidays.

For orders placed after the cut off time, they will be delivered the next available delivery day.

With fresh, perishable flowers and a focus on quality, we service flower delivery to within Sydney NSW.
What happens after I place an order online for flowers?

You will receive an email confirmation of your flower order.

If you selected to pick up the flowers and specified a date and approximate time period during checkout, we will have your flowers designed and ready to be picked up on the specified date. If we are missing details from you, we will contact you to confirm your pick up.

If you selected local courier delivery, your flowers will be transported from our shop in Northbridge to the delivery location by either someone on our team or one of our trusted courier partners. Delivery occurs usually between 8am - 5pm. If you have a preferred time window or cutoff, you can let us know upon checkout. We do our best to accomodate for any preferences where realistically possible, and will contact you if there is an issue.

After a delivery has been completed, we will notify you usually via SMS or email if overseas, along with a photo of the bouquet we designed.
Will the flowers I order look like the photos?

The photos online are for colour & textural inspiration - with flowers being seasonal, exact varieties will vary based on its availability and quality throughout the year. We strive our best to substitute for something similar to what you see in the photos at different times of the year. If there's a particular photo or flower in a photo that you love, please let us know when adding to cart. We ALWAYS do our best to cater for preferences, and will inform you prior to designing if a request is not possible.

We also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If your recipient isn't happy with their flowers, we'll do our best to make sure the issue is resolved.
How do you ensure the flowers will survive a delivery?

For all deliveries, we wrap the stems of the bouquet in a water pouch that is biodegradable and simple to remove upon delivery. The level of water in the pouch varies with the distance and types of flowers. This helps the flowers keep fresh in transit as much as possible. We keep bouquets upright during delivery to ensure the stems continue drinking throughout.

Each bouquet comes with a Flower Care Card which details instructions to the recipient on how to take care of their flowers after unwrapping.
What happens if no one is home for the delivery?

This is a very common delivery scenario. Typically there is a safe place to leave the flowers.

If it's a house, we find a shaded spot undercover near the front door or similar.

If an apartment, either at the lobby or we try to buzz a neighbouring unit, to enable us to leave the flowers inside the secure building or at the unit's door.

We usually attempt to contact the recipient to let them know that something has been delivered (unless directed otherwise).

In the absolute worst case scenario, a re-attempt of delivery will be organised at an additional fee for a subsequent date or time. We will always contact you if this is the case.
