Dusty pink, burgundy and sage green florals for Amy and Oliver's autumn wedding at The Stables, Bendooley Estate, in the Southern Highlands (May 2026).

Ceremony setup at The Stables, Bendooley Estate: white plinths with pink and burgundy florals and a hanging floral install on the iron hoop

Amy came to us with a clear palette: dusty pink, burgundy and sage green. She loves texture and bold colour, and gave the team room to be creative.

So we built the mood board around big focal blooms, trailing textures and a pop of brighter pink to lift the deeper tones.

The ceremony: a hanging hoop and two plinths

The Stables has an iron ring above the front entrance. It's made for florals.

We dressed it with hanging clusters that spill down towards the ceremony, then framed the aisle end with two white plinths, each topped with a feature arrangement and clustered at the base.

Planning for rain? The wet weather option flips the ceremony so guests sit inside The Stables, and the florals move with it.

The reception: long tables, bud vases and repurposed florals

Inside, long tables with shared plates. The florals on top had to stay low and light, so we ran bud vases down the length of each table.

After the ceremony, the feature arrangements moved inside to the floor at the end of each long table, where guests see them as they walk in, and to the gift table.

Once guests had moved inside, we cut down the hoop clusters and gave them a second life on the bar. We also dressed the base of the big fireplace, where everyone gathers.

Tips if you're getting married at The Stables

  • The outdoor iron ring sits high, so hanging florals take time to go up and come down.
  • High installs can't come down straight after the ceremony while guests are having drinks and canapés underneath. Plan to repurpose them later in the evening, once guests are inside. More in our guide to reusing your wedding flowers.
  • Candlesticks need to sit in glass cylinders inside the venue.
  • Shared-plate menu? Keep table florals low so there's room for the food.
