Curzon Hall Wedding Flowers: Real Setups & Ideas

Author: Lime Tree Bower Florist | Last Updated:

Curzon Hall is a sandstone mansion in Marsfield, in Sydney's north-west, with a garden lawn and domed gazebo for ceremonies and a reception room with black lattice windows and crystal chandeliers. We've designed the flowers for weddings here, and this guide shows what we set up in each space and what we'd do again.

The spaces at a glance

Space Used for What works
Garden lawn and gazebo Ceremony Pedestal arrangements either side of the ceremony table, in front of the stone columns
Lawn entry Arrival A welcome sign on an easel with a small cluster of flowers at its base
Chapel Ceremony Small posies tied to the pew ends along the aisle
Reception room Reception Low centrepieces and tall frame arrangements on round tables, bud vases along the head table

Ceremony on the lawn

The sandstone columns and steps do a lot of the work, so we kept the ceremony to two white pedestals, one either side of the draped table, in white and cream roses, peach blooms, hydrangea and soft greenery. They read from the back row and frame the couple without hiding the building.

Welcome sign and arrival

The welcome sign sat on an easel on the lawn, with a small cluster of white hydrangea, cream roses and peach blooms at its base, in the same colours as the ceremony.

The chapel

For a chapel ceremony we tied small posies of blush rose, natives and olive to the dark timber pew ends. They line the aisle without crowding it.

Reception under the chandeliers

The reception room has white walls, tall black lattice windows and crystal chandeliers, so strong colour stands out. For this wedding we mixed two heights on the round tables: low centrepieces of hot pink, red and blush roses with olive and berries, and tall black frames wrapped in roses and trailing greenery. Along the head table we kept it to single stems in glass bud vases, so nothing blocks the view of the couple.

The bouquets

The bouquets followed each wedding's colours: soft peach, cream and blush with dusty grey foliage for a summer ceremony on the lawn, and a round bouquet of deep red roses for an autumn wedding.

Plan Your Flowers at Curzon Hall

Good to Know Before You Plan

  • Two heights work in the reception room. The ceilings and chandeliers suit tall pieces, but keep some tables low so guests can talk across them.
  • Lawn ceremonies are outdoors. Pedestals need to be stable and the flowers chosen to hold up in the sun.
  • Reuse the ceremony flowers. Pedestals and posies can move to the reception. Our guide to reusing ceremony flowers explains how.
  • Check with the venue. Access times, what can go on the tables and what the venue supplies are set by Curzon Hall, so confirm them before your design is final.
